In May 2004, the Houston Business Journal named RECON and its sister company, G.R. Birdwell Construction, L.P., the #2 Small Business in Houston, Texas. The ranking was calculated on the local gross revenue for 2003. The only company ahead of RECON and Birdwell was an Internet service company.
