RECON´s Tex Tin Superfund Project in Texas City, Texas was recently recognized as the "Best of the Best" by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Greater Houston (Texas) in the 2004 Excellence in Construction Awards Competition. The project was evaluated on execution of design, craftsmanship, attention to detail, safety and other considerations. By winning at the local level, RECON is eligible to participate in the National awards competition.
The Tex Tin Superfund Project was a unique first-of-its kind design build that logged over 100,000 man-hours without a safety incident, and saved the taxpayers and the United States Environmental Protection Agency over 9 million dollars. RECON completed construction 7 months ahead of schedule. This approach is becoming a model for future superfund projects.
